Under the laws of the State of Florida and the City's Charter and Code of Ordinances, the City of Riviera Beach will hold its Municipal General Election in conjunction with Palm Beach County’s 2024 Presidential Preference Primary on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. to include Early Voting starting Saturday, March 9, 2024, through Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Wells Recreation, 2409 Avenue H West, Riviera Beach, Florida 33404, and its Municipal Run-Off Election, if necessary, on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The election will be held within the municipal boundaries to elect two (2) councilpersons: District two and District four, each candidate for a term of three (3) years. Terms will commence upon certification of the election results. Bond referenda for a new public safety (police) facility, fire station, and parks, recreation and leisure facilities are on the ballot for Tuesday, March 19, 2024, as well.
As set forth in the City’s Code of Ordinances, the official candidate qualifying period begins at noon (12:00 p.m.), Tuesday, November 7, 2023, and runs through noon (12:00 p.m.), Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Persons desiring to qualify as a candidate for such elective office may do so by filing with the City Clerk at the Municipal Complex, 600 West Blue Heron Boulevard, Riviera Beach, Florida 33404.
Persons seeking to qualify as a candidate must be registered voters of the City. If applicable, they shall have continuously resided in the City and respective district for one (1) year before the filing date. Pursuant to the City's Charter and Code of Ordinances, the filing fee for a City Council seat is $1,140.00. All City Council seats shall be voted upon at large.
Voter registration for the March 19, 2024 Election to include Early Voting, closes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Voter registration for the April 2, 2024 Run-off Election (if any) closes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024. Qualified voters may register at the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office or online at http://www.votepalmbeach.gov/Voters/Register-to-Vote.
Ballot language translations include English, Spanish, and Creole. Qualified, trained Poll Workers will be positioned at each precinct to assist you during voting.
