Before Requesting an Inspection

• Permits and sub-permits must be issued.
• Contractor registration must be current.
• A Notice of Commencement must be submitted when applicable.

Information to Include

• Permit number
• Project address
• Inspection type
• Requested inspection date
• Jobsite contact name and phone number
• Notes for the inspector, such as a gate code, dog on site or location details

Scheduling Guidelines

• Inspections may be scheduled up to five business days in advance.
• Next-day inspections must be requested by 4:00 p.m.
• Requests received after 4:00 p.m. will be scheduled for the following business day or the next available date.

What Is Required On Site

• The permit and approved stamped plans must be posted on site.
• The inspector must have access to the jobsite.
• For rooftop inspections, ladders must be safely positioned and available for the inspector.
• The address must be posted and clearly visible from the street.

Canceling an Inspection

Cancel by phone or email no later than 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the inspection.

Include the permit number, inspection type and scheduled inspection date.

Fees and Penalties

• Reinspection fees may apply after a failed inspection.
• Same-day cancellations or no-shows may be subject to fees.
• All fees must be paid before a follow-up inspection can be scheduled.
