JOIN US FOR "A CELEBRATION OF THE DREAM" AT THE CITY OF RIVIERA BEACH’S 40TH ANNUAL DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. PARADE!
RIVIERA BEACH, FL (December 21, 2023) – Get ready to celebrate as the City of Riviera Beach hosts its 40th year Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. parade, "A Celebration of the Dream," on Saturday, January 13, 2024. This year's parade promises to be a memorable event filled with joy, unity, and community spirit.
The parade will kick off at 10:00 a.m., with participants lining up starting at 8:00 a.m. The parade route has been modified due to ongoing construction at Ave L and W. Blue Heron Blvd, which is the site of the new Water Treatment Plant and has been fenced off as pre-construction work is starting. We assure you that the alternative route will be just as exciting and enjoyable.
Parade Length Comparison:
• 2023 parade route- Blue Heron and Congress Avenue to Avenue L
o Distance is 1.15 miles
• 2024 parade route - MLK Blvd and Congress Avenue to Avenue O
o Distance is approx. 1.14 miles
For the best view of the parade, make sure to grab a spot at the MLK Parade viewing stand located at Avenue P and MLK Blvd. It's the perfect spot to witness the vibrant colors, lively performances, and the community spirit that makes this parade so special.
Following the parade, join us at the Dan Calloway Park for the post-parade celebration from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This family-friendly event will feature live music, vendors, kids' activities, and much more. It's a great opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends while celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
In addition to the festivities, there will be a prize for the Best Performance and Best Float in the parade. So, make sure to bring your A-game and show off your creativity and talent.
Parking will be conveniently available at designated locations, and a shuttle service will be provided for your convenience. Please refer to the attached parking map for more information. Please note that parking locations and routes are subject to change.
We are also excited to announce that vendors will be present along Avenue P and MLK Blvd, as well as at the side entrance of Dan Calloway Park. Don't miss the chance to showcase your products or services to the parade attendees.
Please note that there will be street closures, detours, and police presence to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the parade.
