5/2/2023 - Riviera Beach Police Reducing Gun Violence

RIVIERA BEACH POLICE REDUCING GUN VIOLENCE BY REMOVING 26 GUNS OFF THE STREET IN THE MONTH OF APRIL 

RIVIERA BEACH, FL. (May 2, 2023) – The Riviera Beach Police Department’s Active Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team have worked proactively during the month of April to ensure there’s a decrease of crime, especially towards gun violence. Throughout the day they are tasked with conducting high visibility enforcement throughout the City of Riviera Beach. Their tasks include addressing all crimes in progress, including street level drug dealing and gun crimes. 

During the month of April, the ACE Team performed in an exemplary manner, and produced the following statistics: 

  • • Arrests: 18 
  • • Twenty-six (26) guns seized 
  • • Currency recovered: $1,450 
  • • One arrest was forwarded to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for federal prosecution. 

 

Several of the subjects arrested are convicted felons and will serve long prison sentences. The 18 arrest and 26 guns removed out of the City ensures that The ACE Team is doing an extraordinary job to keep citizens and visitors safe. They received assistance on these arrest from The Riviera Beach Police Department’s VICE Team as well. 

“It’s all a team effort to make our community a safer place and our Police Department a better agency,” Police Chief Michael Coleman said. “These cases are being adopted by the Federal Government, which continues to improve the relationships we have with everyone.”
