4/24/2023 - Riviera Beach Police Makes Arrest On Homicide Investigation

RIVIERA BEACH, FL. (April 24, 2023) – The Riviera Beach Police Department (RBPD)
is cordially inviting the media to a press conference at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25,
2023 at the Riviera Beach Police Department Substation located at 1550 West 28th Street.

On Sunday, June 5, 2022, the Riviera Beach Police were dispatched to 3 Pine Ridge
Drive regarding a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased female
within the residence. Given the circumstances in which the victim was found deceased, the Strategic Investigations Division was notified and initiated a homicide investigation.

On April 3, 2023, after a 10-month exhaustive and thorough investigation, probable cause was established for the arrest of Terrell D. Strain (B/M 05/22/2001). On Thursday, April 20, 2023, a Grand Jury indicted Terrell Strain on the following charges:

• (1) Count of 1st Degree Murder While Engaged in Robbery
• (1) Count of Burglary to an Occupied Dwelling While Armed

Both charges carry the possibility of life in prison.

The Riviera Beach Police Department would like to extend its gratitude to fellow
colleagues, including the detectives within the Strategic Investigations Division, Crime Scene Investigators, road patrol officers, the RBPD chain of command, and West Palm Beach Police Department. This investigation was full of late nights, early mornings, and time spent away from families and loved ones. Without the dedication and commitment put forth by every individual just mentioned, this outcome would not have been possible.

We are pleased to state that Terrell Strain is currently being held in the Palm Beach
County Jail, where he will remain until his trial begins. Lastly, we would like to thank the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office, specifically Assistant State Attorney Jo Wilensky, for her continued support and guidance throughout this investigation.

On behalf of the Riviera Beach Police Department and those in the Strategic
Investigations Division, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim. We hope that with the arrest of Terrell Strain comes a small measure of comfort and closure.
