3/24/2022 - City Celebrating Centennial With Carnival

RIVIERA BEACH, FL. (March 24, 2022) – Children laughing while swirling on rides, adults dancing to drum lines and the sweet smell of cotton candy and popcorn will permeate the air at The Centennial Carnival to celebrate the City’s 100th birthday.

The carnival, which runs from March 24 to March 27 at Wells Recreation Center, 2409 Avenue H West, will kick off at 5:30 p.m. The fun will include rides, games, prizes, food and fun for the whole family. There will also be special appearances on Thursday, March 24, by the 2022 Riviera Beach National Cheer and Dance Champions, The Sounds of Success Community Band and Faith Place Drumline.

“From our favorite carnival foods, to rides that will bring out the inner child of us, this family-friendly event will continue a year of celebration as we get ready to turn 100!” City Manager Jonathan Evans said.

Entry and parking at Wells Recreation Center and City Hall are free. All rides, if purchased in advance at https://www.rivierabch.com/100 are $20 and $25 at the gate. Centennial keepsakes could also be purchased on the website. Individual ride tickets are available at the entrance ticket booth. Fees for games, food and activities are not included. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a parent or an adult. Hours are Thursday and Friday from 6 p.m.-11 p.m., Saturday from 1 p.m.-11 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m.-9 p.m.

The City of Riviera Beach officially launched its Centennial Celebration last month with a viewing of JAWS on the beach. The year-long celebration will recognize the City’s long and rich history that contributes to its warm, culturally diverse and friendly community. While we all REIMAGINE RIVIERA BEACH, the Centennial Celebration allows us to celebrate our past, while creating our future.

Stay tuned for a year-long schedule of fun-filled activities and events that best capture the unique sense of community and natural beauty that truly exemplifies why the great City of Riviera Beach is the best place to live, work and play.
