Fire Station 88, A Public-Private Partnership (P3) Project

MISSION STATEMENT

To provide the Riviera Beach community stakeholders with what they deserve, which is a premiere, state-of-the-art, and cutting-edge facility that will be of better service and provide conditions for the Riviera Beach Fire Fighters and other personnel to thrive in. This project will be a transparent and publicly engaging process. This is a City on the Move!

BACKGROUND

In September of 2020, the City of Riviera Beach purchased the former Walgreens property located at  1920 W. Blue Heron Blvd, Riviera Beach, FL , 33404, to serve as the new location for Fire Station 88.  The property was purchased at a cost of $2.4 million.  This particular location was selected because of the location and size.  The new fire station will feature state-of-the-art and cutting-edge technology and equipment that provides energy efficiency, promotes the health and safety of fire personnel while providing temporary space for the Emergency Operations Center and a training center. These features are highly important and will benefit the community in ways past facilities have not. 

PROJECT PLAN

Step 1: Bids for development will be received in March 2021. - Complete

Step 2: Top three (3) bidders will be presented to the City Council for selection. - Complete

Step 3: Negotiations of the contract(s) will take place with the selected developer. - Complete

Step 4: Contract will go before the City Council for approval, if approved, the City will proceed with the contract. - Complete 

Step 5: Demolition of the former Walgreens facility. -  Complete

Step 6: Redevelopment activities will begin. - In Progress

Step 7: Official groundbreaking in February 2022. Construction is expected to last 13 to 16 months. - In Progress
