About the Grant

The program supports schools, early learning providers, childcare centers, nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, and eligible individual educators delivering educational programming to Riviera Beach children and families.

Who May Apply

Eligibility is limited to qualified applicants serving Riviera Beach students. Credentials, employment, affiliation, registration, and licensure may be verified.

Individuals - Up to $2,500

  • Certified K-12 public school teachers serving Riviera Beach students.
  • Qualified or certified early childhood educators.
  • Licensed or credentialed daycare providers.
  • Licensed or credentialed home-based childcare or early learning providers.
  • Qualified educators/providers in eligible Riviera Beach settings.

Schools & Organizations - Up to $10,000

  • Riviera Beach public K-12 schools.
  • Eligible early learning centers.
  • Licensed childcare/daycare and home-based providers.
  • Educational institutions serving Riviera Beach students.
  • Qualifying nonprofit educational organizations.
Verification notice: False, misleading, expired, or unverifiable information may result in ineligibility or withdrawal of an award. Up to four individual applications and one institutional application may be submitted from the same school, organization, or institution.

2026-2027 Grant Timeline

October-December 2026 Implementation Recipients implement projects and track finances, participation, and outcomes.
December 31, 2026 Recommended Completion Grant-funded activities should generally be completed unless otherwise authorized.
January 31, 2027 Final Report Due Narrative, financial reconciliation, outcome data, and supporting documents are due.

Allowable & Unallowable Expenses

Examples of Allowable Expenses

  • Curriculum, literacy, early learning, STEM, arts, career, and leadership materials.
  • Educational technology, software, and subscriptions.
  • Student enrichment and educational field experiences.
  • Professional development and contracted educational services.
  • Family engagement events and educational workshops.
  • Assessment tools, project transportation, and learning equipment.
  • Project marketing and necessary administrative costs, up to 10% of the award.

Unallowable Expenses

  • General operating expenses unrelated to the project.
  • Debt repayment or deficit reduction.
  • Political activities or lobbying.
  • Construction, major renovations, or land acquisition.
  • Routine maintenance, utilities, or pre-award expenses.
  • Cash awards, gift cards, or direct scholarships.
  • Costs already reimbursed by another funding source.
Budget reminder: Submit a detailed line-item budget, maintain receipts and financial records, obtain approval before significant reallocations, and return unused funds unless otherwise authorized in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum grant request?
Eligible individuals may request up to $2,500. Eligible schools, institutions, and organizations may request up to $10,000.
How are applications scored?
Trained reviewers independently score each eligible application using a 100-point rubric. Categories include alignment, community need, program design, organizational capacity, budget, evaluation, and sustainability.
Are the student impact levels funding tiers?
No. Student ranges are general evaluation guidance only. They do not create funding caps or guaranteed awards.
What reports are required?
Grantees must submit a final narrative report, financial summary, outcome data, budget reconciliation, and appropriate supporting documentation by January 31, 2027.
Can a grantee change an approved budget?
Material budget changes require approval from the Education Liaison before funds are reallocated.
Can an extension be requested?
Requests related to implementation or reporting must be submitted in writing before the grant period ends and are considered case by case.
