Swim, Learn, Train, and Stay Active in Riviera Beach

The City of Riviera Beach is expanding aquatics access through the Swim on-the-Go Initiative, a community-driven solution designed to keep residents connected to safe, affordable, and enriching aquatic opportunities during the Barracuda Bay transition.

About the Swim on-the-Go Initiative

Swim on-the-Go was developed to ensure Riviera Beach residents continue to have access to aquatics programming, recreation, and water safety education. Through partnerships with local HOAs, nearby municipalities, and Rapids Water Park, the City is bringing aquatic access directly into neighborhoods and expanding opportunities for residents of all ages.

Why It Matters

With Barracuda Bay scheduled for demolition to make way for the new Police Department, the City created Swim on-the-Go as an innovative and collaborative response that keeps families swimming, learning, and thriving.

How Access Is Being Expanded

  • Swim lessons and water aerobics offered through HOA pool partnerships
  • Use of nearby municipal aquatic centers for recreation, fitness, and training
  • Rapids Water Park passes secured for Riviera Beach residents and Parks & Recreation participants
  • Strong support from residents and City leadership through outreach and public engagement

A Community-Driven Aquatics Solution

Riviera Beach’s Swim on-the-Go program is more than a replacement program. It is a flexible, community-supported model for aquatic access that combines recreation, instruction, fitness, partnerships, and safety education.

HOA Neighborhood pool partnerships
City Municipal collaboration for year-round access
Rapids Expanded family recreation opportunities
Safety Water skills and drowning prevention support

Water Safety Matters

Water safety is a year-round priority. Families are encouraged to build confidence in the water through swim instruction, supervised practice, and ongoing safety education.

For qualifying families, the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Palm Beach County offers free or reduced-cost lessons for children and eligible caregivers. Residents can visit the Coalition’s website for details on qualifications and application steps.

Important reminder: There is no such thing as a child being drown-proof. Always watch children in or around water.
