Utility Rate Increase

The Future of the Utility and Water Treatment Plant

The City of Riviera Beach Utility Special District (District) recognizes the need to provide the very best water quality to its customers. The community has voiced their concerns and the District is responding by strategizing ways in which the issues regarding our water can be addressed.  Primarily,  the improvement of the water quality will be accomplished by the current upgrades to the existing system and the development of a new water treatment facility. Furthermore, the District Board and staff engaged in discussions through various  District meetings, budget meetings, presentations, and engaged a rate consultant of the  utility rate study. The result of the consultation was that in order to obtain sufficient funds to meet operating costs and the needed capital initiatives, an increase to the water rate would be necessary for each year until 2025.
