Elected to the City Council on March 29, 2016, Tonya Davis Johnson is a political newcomer with 29 years of governmental experience. She is a native Floridian and 8 year resident and member of the Riviera Beach Heights neighborhood. Councilwoman Davis Johnson is honored to have been elected to serve as the District 3 representative and even more honored to serve the citizens of Riviera Beach.
She is committed to economic development, affordable housing, community, education, crime reduction and small business creation, retention and expansion. As your District 3 Councilwoman, she believes that “Together We Can” be the change we wish to see and “Together We Can” experience the best that is Riviera Beach. She will listen to your concerns and represent your interests at City Hall.
Ms. Davis Johnson is the Director of the Palm Beach County’s Office of Small Business Assistance (OSBA), which exists to promote the economic growth, expansion, and increased productivity of small business enterprises in Palm Beach County.
She currently serves as: a member of the Board of Directors for Girls II Women, a
non-profit that creates social and educational opportunities for underserved girls in Riviera Beach, West Palm Beach, and Belle Glade; 2nd Vice President for the South Florida Chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators and now serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the National Forum for Black Public Administrators. She is a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in West Palm Beach.
Councilwoman Davis Johnson is a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational management, with a minor in entrepreneurship, and a master’s degree in organizational leadership.
She is married; the mother of two daughters and proud MeMaw to Brookelyn Meshelle.
