A Resolution is an official legislative expression of the City Council that effects an administrative issue; an expression of a temporary character or a provision for disposition.

The City’s resolutions date back to the 1900’s. Legislative enactments transpired as a result of many of these documents that are now in place.

Resolutions are enacted upon on a need basis and do not require publication with the exception if a resolution is enacting a municipal improvement, it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance with F.S. 166.041.

Resolutions may enact appropriations, transfers, temporary assignments, administrative provisions in nature that do not require publication or codification.

• Resolutions shall be signed by City Council persons voting (aye or nay).
   
• All Resolutions shall be signed by the Mayor.
   
• All Resolutions shall be signed and sealed by the City Clerk.
   
• Resolutions become effective immediately upon City Council’s approval.
